Gender Ministry Aims At Attaining More Than 50% Women Representation In Parliament

Ghana is aiming to overtake Rwanda to become the leading country with over fifty percent women representation in parliament come December 7.

The agenda is also targeting higher number of female cabinet members and top management officials.

From the experiences of the past years, gender activists have strategised to financially support and curb socio- cultural practices that prevent women from attaining that feat.

At a forum in Accra on the Affirmative Action Bill, Deputy Gender Minister, Dela Sowah said the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goal five will be a mirage if women are left behind in the decision making process.
