FREE HEALTH SCREENING BY YOUNG PROFESSIONALS IN AVATIME DZOKPE IN THE HO-WEST DISTRICT

Young Professionals, a group of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) made up of young individuals who have chartered carrier paths, organised a health screening exercise at Avatime Dzokpe at this year’s Local Press Launch of Avatime Amu (Brown Rice) Festival 2016 at Dzokpe in the Avatime Traditional Area.

The Festival which is in its 7th year, and rotational for the past years would be organised around the theme: Unity and development in Avatime through brown rice culture and eco-tourism, is aimed at drawing people from across Ghana and abroad to showcase the rich agricultural and tourism potentials of the people of the Avatime Traditional Area and as well bring to light investment opportunities.

The health screening team of Young Professionals attended to over 300 people comprising pregnant women, children and the aged who required medical attention.

The program was attended by all chiefs of Avatime including the Paramount Chief of the Area Osei Adzatekpor (VII) and the host Okusie Kpornuglo V.

The Avatime Traditional Area comprises seven communities; Avatime Biakpa, Avatime Vane, Avatime Dzogbefeme, Avatime Amedzofe, Avatime Gbadzeme, Avatime Fume and Avatime Dzokpe.

The team has resolved to be present between 13th November and 20th November, 2016 for the festival proper to enable them reach out to more people in the area.
