14th December 2022

Retained National Women Organiser of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Dr Louisa Hanna Bisiw has revealed how she face off five different groups campaigning against her re-election bid on the campus of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) last Saturday.

She revealed that five different groups on the orders of persons she refused to name on the eve and on the main day of the elections for Women Organiser were tasked to ensure that delegates voted in a particular line.

“There were five different groups on the election ground campaigning against me to make sure I lose the election”, she revealed on Accra-based Radio Gold monitored by

Despite this stiff opposition from within the NDC, she emerged victorious polling 433 votes to beat her closest contender, Margaret Ansei who obtained 362 votes.

Re-elected National Women Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Dr. Hanna Louisa Bissiw has said the just-ended elections in her party were them against her.

“The NDC contest was them against me”, she revealed

According to her, most people in her party came against her with the argument that nobody has occupied that position for two consecutive terms hence there is no need for her to go for a second term.

Speaking on Radio Gold in Accra Ghanapoliticsonline.com Dr Louisa Hanna Bisiw stated “somehow, people say that in the contest of women wing, nobody has contested twice, so they said Hanna shouldn’t go. The NDC contest was them against me”

“Per our party records nobody has gone two times. It was Ama Benewaa Doe who went twice but even with that, there were no elections in her second term. The party decided to maintain her with the reason that, time wasn’t on our side”, she explained.

“From 1992, all elected officers went for only one term, so they all said Hanna shouldn’t go for a second term”, she emphasized.
