Ex-Kufuor Minister Exposes Ursula’s Dirty Victory

… Hits Freddie Blay & Ursula Owusu, Questions Accusations Against EC, Doubts Party’s Victory

A former Deputy Minister Of Women and Children’s Affairs under President John Kufuor, has taken his party to the cleaners, exposing the gargantuan electoral fraud which occurred in the Ablekuma West Parliamentary Primary in favour of Lawyer Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, under broad daylight with massive connivance of the party leadership led by Freddie Blay.

Daniel Dugan, who was the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Shai-Osudoku Constituency in 2008, cataloged several issues which happened at Ablekuma West Constituency which in his opinion make nonsense of his party’s accusations against the Electoral Commission (EC).

In statement released last Friday, he lamented that “the current NEC under the administration of Hon. Freddie Blay has gone full throttle to convince us that the administration of the Party under Paul Afoko was not going to bring us electoral fortunes at the polls on November 7, 2016”.

Explaining the Ablekuma West Constituency situation, Mr. Dugan said “for the first time in any electoral history in the world, two different voters’ registers (albums) were allowed to be used, an original and a forged. There are 113 polling stations in the constituency, so with five elected polling station executives, sixteen constituency executives, five patrons and five members of the council of elders, there should be 607 delegates for the primaries.

Deducting sixteen members, who have relocated abroad and eleven deceased, without deducting those who resigned to contest other positions, the maximum number of delegates, should have stood at 580”.

He revealed that, “the forged album had about 632 delegates, so in effect, deducting the constituency executives, electoral coordinators, patron and council of elders; Ablekuma West has 118 polling stations, meaning an additional five were created not by the EC but by Freddie Blay and company. And we always protest against the EC when new polling stations are created on Election Day.

The forged album, had a little over 460 pictures fixed against the names of the delegates, meaning about 172 faceless people, turned up to vote last Saturday. And we protest against non-verification of voters”.

Mr. Dugan, who used to be a columnist in the Ghanaian Chronicle Newspaper, also suggested that the Acting NPP National Chairman, Mr. Blay, cannot get victory for the party in the November elections, because he has failed to unite the feuding factions since he was brought in after the ousting
of Paul Afoko’s removal as National Chairman, through a palace coup.

“… most die-hard activists of this our noble party stood up to throw support behind the current NEC, believing that it was Afoko, Kwabena Agyepong, Sammy Crabbe and their few followers out of the over five million NPP sympathizers, who are making the ugly noises and creating confusion in the Party. So disregarding a few bad nuts, will never hinder the party’s chances at the November polls”.

But “unfortunately it is turning out that tens of thousands of our supporters each and every day in a number of constituencies are becoming despondent and rejecting the NPP. And the reason unfortunately is not Afoko, but the administration of Freddie Blay”.

Below is what Mr. Dugan wrote:

So disregarding a few bad nuts will never hinder the party’s chances at the November polls.

Unfortunately it is turning out that tens of thousands of our supporters each and every day in a number of constituencies are becoming despondent and rejecting the NPP. And the reason unfortunately is not Afoko, but the administration of Freddie Blay.

Just take a look at Manhyia North where at this very moment party activists are very defiant and spoiling for war against their own beloved NPP. And in Tema West things are certainly going rough for us with the issue of tribe.

What is equally disturbing is the conduct of the Ablekuma West parliamentary primary. Of course the primary must take place and it did take place. However how can the Party under the control, watch and directives of acting chairman Blay and acting general secretary John Boadu allow what can be said to be electoral fraud to take place?

For the first time in any electoral history in the world, two different voters’ registers (albums) were allowed to be used, an original and a forged. There are 113 polling stations in the constituency, so with five elected polling station executives, sixteen constituency executives, five patrons and five members of the council of elders, there should be 607 delegates for the primaries. Deducting sixteen members who have relocated abroad and eleven deceased, without deducting those who resigned to contest other positions, the maximum number of delegates should have stood at 580.

The forged album had a little over 460 pictures fixed against the names of the delegates, meaning about 172 faceless people turned up to vote last Saturday. And we protest against non-verification of voters.

Perhaps in a haste to put fill in names of “executives” of polling stations on the forged album, it turned out that one polling station, Dansec, at the Opetekwei Electoral Area had no female residing there, so one handsome man, called Dominic Asiamah was “elected” as the Women Organizer. NPP is now in transgender business, abi?

In the forged album there are almost completely new list of executives, when and how they were elected and sworn into office, is a mystery. The “new” constituency chairman, Osei Puni and his two vices, Kwasi Fori and Evans Gyide had their names hand written and not typed.

We were told that the two albums were merged meaning there was some reconciliation, which was actually not the case. If indeed there was such an operation, it would have been found out the only about ten names in the forged one were properly elected executives who with others voted in the internal elections including the presidential primaries.

The forged one had people coming from next door constituencies of Odododiodio, Ablekuma South and Ablekuma Central and these included some known NDC members. And we complain about aliens coming in to vote at our General Elections.

The CitiFM news item that 1,200 registered voters were at the constituency is an deliberate falsehood. In fact a well thought of lie to throw dust in the eyes of the ignorant Ghanaian. CitiFM wants to tell the world that Ablekuma Central has about 232 polling stations. Is this media house ever serious?

In the end 876 turned out to vote, meaning 167 polling stations were present.

Folks, ideally there is nothing wrong in re-presenting Ursula to stand on the ticket of the Party in the constituency, however, this kind of conduct of elections which the NPP and its very foundations and ideals always fought against, from the Stolen Verdict right through to the eight month battle at the Supreme Court, make mockery of our Party and we have lost the spirit to fight for justice of any kind anywhere.

Ursula should not glorify herself in victory for it was some cooked up one which we would have shouted all the way to the UN if we went to the polls in November to find two sets of voters’ register, one from the EC and one from the NDC. I heard she even produced a second forged album to make up the numbers.

Why is the current NEC doing this to NPP? We were told that Afoko and company were those breeding confusion within the Party and now that they are set aside, the confusion is even more alarming and embarrassing with NPP members on daily basis cursing their own Party and threatening to vote against our flag bearer.

Freddie Blay and company must make sure that we win November 7, at all cost. Since they know how to win elections through foul means, let us see them in action this time against the NDC and EC. If in Ablekuma West a total of 580 registered delegates can produce 876 voters, we need that magic across the nation in November 2016.

I guess quite huge sums of money go into such arrangements and after achieving their aim, the NEC will have almost nothing for the main campaign.

We have now mastered over voting, allowing aliens to vote, voting ahead of official time and just introduced a new innovative, using two register of voters. So we have no problem at all. Anything short of victory and denying our flag bearer Nana Akufo Addo the presidency this time round will not be acceptable.

If they don’t like the man, Nana Addo, they should be bold and tell him straight in the face and stop making him and the entire Party, laughing stocks.
