Everything is in place for today’s polls – EC assures

All is set for the today’s crunch general elections, the Electoral Commission has assured.

According to the EC’s Chairperson, Madam Charlotte Osei the Commission was “deploying about 148, 000 election officers and 70, 709 biometric verification devices” for the election.

“All the personnel we require have been recruited and undergone rigorous training”, she added.

On the BVDs, she explained that, “if the BVD fails to capture one finger, try other fingers – if there is a match there’ll be a green light, The manual verification will be done if the BVD fails to verify all 10 fingers”.

Explaining the preparations put put in place by the EC for the elections at a press conference on Tuesday, the Commission’s Chairperson Madam Charlotte Osei, stated that per the interventions put in place “we don’t expect unreasonably long waits as the polling lists are smaller”.

She therefore assured of a fair and transparent electoral process.

“We believe our electoral process is credible and secure”, she stated.
