Eugene Arhin Must Resign; “He Lacks The Capacity” – Brogya Genfi

Brogya Genfi, the Suame Parliament Candidate who contested on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) has called on the Head of Communications at the Presidency to resign due to what he describes as “lack of capacity” on his part.

Speaking exclusively to , he was of the view that since Eugene Arhin openly accepted responsibility on the issue of plagiarism as far as the President’s inaugural speech is concerned, “it is a testimony to the fact that he lacks the capacity to work in the high office of Head of Communications and therefore must resign”.

“I am saying this because this caused us (Ghana) an international embarrassment. If you read the speech carefully, you would realize that not only President Bush of the United States Of America was plagiarized but four other Heads of States”.

Brogya Genfi added that “even the President of Nigeria who was at the ceremony had parts of his old speeches lifted verbatim without references to him … the late President JF Kennedy’s 1961 inaugural speech was also not spared”.

“…I even learnt that IdI Amin’s speech was also plagiarized so this is a collection of speeches and it is also called intellectual dishonesty”.

The newly appointed Director of Communications for the President has apologised for the non-acknowledgement of quotes contained in Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s inaugural speech.

Eugene Arhin in a Facebook post Saturday said, “it was a complete oversight, and never deliberate.”

This was after the issue went viral on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter hours after a colourful inauguration ceremony at the Black Star Square in Accra.
Mr Arhin remarked, “my attention has been drawn to references being made to a statement in the speech delivered by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at his swearing in on Saturday, January 7, 2017, which was not duly acknowledged.”

Nonetheless, Brogya Genfi who doubles as the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the NDC, wants him to go a step further by resigning from his post as the Head of Communications at the Presidency because “he lacks the capacity to discharge his duties”.
