The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei has stated that the commission has as at this morning received 210 constituency results out of the 275 constituencies across, which they believe is a significant progress.

In press briefing this morning at the Head office of the EC, the Chairperson of the EC said: “Today we have 210 out of the 275 constituencies, so significant progress has been made, so the bad news is that we haven’t

“Today we have 210 out of the 275 constituencies, so significant progress has been made, so the bad news is that we haven’t finish, we still don’t have the final result, you still need to be patient. The 210 results we have received, we have given them to the representatives of the candidates at the National Collation Center, they are currently going through it and tabulating the results, we are hoping that after that the result will be signed off by myself as the returning officer of the presidential elections.”

The commission further took the opportunity to call for a collaborative work from agents of the candidates at the National Collation Center.

“We are taking the opportunity to please call on the candidates to talk to the agent in the National Collation Center to work with us certified the results quickly and expedite the process so that we can also give the people of Ghana the final result.”

She added that “We expecting that today we will get most of the pink sheets from the regions so that we can also validate the pink-sheet against the collation results, we are pretty disappointed by the turn out so far base on the collated results from the 210 constituencies the provisional turnout is about 49% this way below our history in elections so far.”

According to her, hopefully, by tomorrow, Saturday, the commission will declare the results

“We are certain this process will continue to by tomorrow so bear with us.”
