Dr Omane Boamah calls for full Presidential Commission of Enquiry into the US$30 million worth Cocaine Saga

The former Minister for Communications, Dr Omane Boamah has called on President Akufo Addo to establish a full scale Commission of Enquiry “not Committee” to thoroughly investigate the mysterious $30 million worth is cocaine at the Tema port.

The former Communications Minister suggested this case has international dimensions since the United Nations had hinted the Government of Ghana about the haul. He condemned state actors involved for “layered irresponsibility.”

Contributing to the debate on Good Morning Ghana on Friday, 28th April, 2017 he emphasized the deleterious effects of hard drugs on individuals, society, the country and the world as a whole. He further stressed the influence drug barons can have on the President Akufo Addo government if he doesn’t set the right example with this cocaine vanishing incident. He further urged the Chairman of the Commission to be at par with a Supreme Court or an Appeal’s Court Judge.

Contributing to the debate Mr Ibrahim Agyei of the Flagstaff House agreed with the request for the establishment of the Presidential Commission of Enquiry.
