I don’t care about insults…I feel proud campaigning for NDC – Dumelo

Ghanaian Actor, John Dumelo has insisted insults will not push him to back track his massive support for the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the lead up to the December polls.

According to him, he feels proud to be campaigning for one of the best political parties in the sub-region.

“I’ll makes sure I promote government, at least for them to continue the good works from 2016 to 2020,” Dumelo told Accra-based Okay FM Friday.

He said he sees no reason for the baton to be changed to field the opposition New Patriotic Party in government because the incumbent must be retained to continue the myriads of development projects and good governance it has initiated.

His comment follows the call by the National Youth Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku urging the Ghana Education Service (GES) to immediately halt the political activities of John Dumelo on the campuses of some Senior High Schools across the country.

Awuku said the latter is in breach of regulation as regards political activities in Senior Secondary Schools.

The actor, is reported to have been engaging in some talk-shows in selected senior high schools as peace ambassador.

But critics say the move by the actor is clandestinely set to campaign for the ruling National Democratic Congress.

Commenting on such allegation, the celebrated actor said the basis of his campaign activities is guaranteed under the law as a Ghanaian, thus he has the right to join any political party of his choice.

“A lot of people are condemning me for endorsing the NDC but I don’t care, because at the end of the day I’m voting for one of the best parties in Africa,” Dumelo stated.
