Alfred Obeng was appointed as the head of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) for him to retrieve the money he pumped into the campaign of the New Patriotic Party during election 2016.
This accusation was made by the biggest opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC) at a press conference organised on Thursday (July 20, 2017).
Addressing the press conference the NDC Chairman Kofi Portuphy claimed that President Nana Akufo-Addo deliberately appointed Obeng so he could recoup his funds.
He added that Obeng is resorting foul means, including contaminating fuel at the oil firm in order to recoup his funds.
“We know Alfred Obeng who is heading BOST is a known financier of the NPP. So the President is quiet about the many corrupt activities he is doing at BOST. We know he was sent to BOST to do whatever he likes, including contaminating fuel in order to retrieve the money he used to sponsor the NPP during the elections.”
On the economy, Portuphy said the President and his Vice have no control over the factors that will help build a better Ghana.
He said they have decided to deceive Ghanaians and also accuse the erstwhile Mahama-led administration falsely.
These reactions follow the maiden media encounter held by President Akufo-Addo on to address a number of issues after staying in office for 6 months.
