COVID-19 still kills – Omane Boamah advises as he bemoans disregard for protocols

A former Communications Minister under the John Mahama led administration, Dr.Omane Boamah has cautioned Ghanaians against the disregard for the various COVID-19 protocols.

There seem to be an utter disregard for COVID-19 safety protocols in some parts of Ghana as the country is currently going through a phased approach in easing of the various restrictions put in place to fight the pandemic.

Most public spaces are crowded with people who do not have their nose masks on whiles some offices have put an end to the provision of veronica buckets for clients and public to wash their hands.

Reacting to these developments, Dr. Omane Boamah warned that COVID-19 still exist and there is therefore the need to continue to adhere strictly to the various protocols put in place by the Ghana Health Service to ensure safety.

In a post on Facebook, the former Communications Minister said”Good morning friends,I wish you the very best this week as the year gradually comes to an end.I am deeply worried about the disregard for COVID-19 prevention protocols which many have abandoned. The disease is active, can kill and causes complications even if you survive it. It does not matter that you did not test positive for it because of lack of adequate testing capacity.I urge you to stay safe, protect children and protect everyone.Best of luck”.
