BREAK DOWN THE COST COMPONENTS OF THE GHC 15M GHANAPOSTGPS- STRANEK

STRANEK will like to call on H. E. Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to help shed some light on the cost components of the recently announced GHC15 million GHANAPOSTGPS.

Having observed on various fora the doubts and raised eyebrows on the cost of the GHANAPOSTGPS and subsequent poor ratings by IT experts, we believe that this call to the Vice President is necessary to help rescue a project that although well-intended is gradually sinking into the quagmire of perceived corruption and abuse of state resources.

Although we welcome this initiative by government to solve the decades old problem of property addressing in Ghana, we believe that a project that is meant to improve on the efficiency of the operations of both the private and public sector must not be bedevilled by such a perception of inefficiency in terms of its pricing. The public deserves to have constant assurance that their representatives in government are not just working for personal interest but for the collective interest of all citizens.

Government must therefore in a quick and transparent exercise disclose a true and complete breakdown of the various cost elements associated with this project. This we believe will go a long way to allay the fears of citizens and restore the ever-waning faith of the people in this government.

STRANEK will also like to know categorically if there is anything proprietary about this project that warrants the cost currently being bandied about by government sources. Because if this projects is structured on existing platforms that are provided freely by various third parties then what amount of work accumulated into the GHc15m contract price?

In conclusion, we will like to remind all appointees of this government to keep to their oaths of office and protect the public purse even as they work towards improving the lives of Ghanaians.

We are all involved in building our motherland Ghana.

Signed.
