Brace yourselves for heart attacks after results declaration – Pratt tells NPP

The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. is appealing to all staff of medical facilities across the country to be on standby during the December polls.

According to him, the tsumani of victory for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) will cause a lot people especially in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to suffer severe heart problems.

“Make sure our medical facilities are up and doing; all nurses are at post. In fact, will should tell the Cuban government to give us more doctors because a number of people who are going to suffer heart attacks out of disappointment will be massive,” Mr. Pratt stated on political discussion programme Alhaji and Alhaji on Accra-based Radio Gold Saturday.

He indicated that, the media hype and opinion polls predicting the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, winner of the elections has created an erroneous impression in the minds of supporters that, victory on Wednesday December 7, 2016 is one touch.

But the veteran journalist maintained that, given his little tour to some regions in the country, the NDC led by President John Mahama is in the lead.

He explained that, the NDC will win massive votes in its world bank, Volta region in spite of the seeming voter apathy in the region.

“Take my word, the turn out in the Volta region is going to be much bigger than in 2012. Anybody who is thinking about winning the election on the low turnout in Volta region should change their mind,” Mr. Pratt stressed.

The Insight editor also indicated that, the ruling party will maximize votes in the Brong Ahafo and the three northern regions.

“I can tell you in full confidence that the NDC will do better in the Brong Ahafo and the northern regions than before because there is a seismic shift. This is not juju” he stated.

In the Greater Accra, Central and Western regions, Kwesi Pratt said the NDC could increase slightly the votes they got in the 2012 elections.
