Ayekoo to our senior citizens – Nana Oye Lithur

Ghanaians all over the country are celebrating Ghana’s Republic today July 1, 2017. Lawyer Nana Oye Lithur, immediate past Gender and Social Protection Minister has added his voice to the rank and file of Ghanaians who are pouring out goodwill messages to our senior citizens and all Ghanaians.

On 1st July, 1960, then Prime Minister Dr Kwame Nkrumah proclaimed Ghana a republic and became its first president.

In a Facebook post sighted by Ghanapoliticsonline.com, the renowned human rights activist posited that Ghanaians have together contributed towards all the great achievements we can boast of as a nation.

1st July 2017. 57 years of self determination, 57 years of challenges and resilience, 57 years of peace, stability and development, 57 years of democracy, military regimes, coup d’etats and constitutional rule.
Through it all we have remained One nation One people with One destiny espousing the values of justice, peace, accountability and freedom.

We remember our fore fathers and mothers who fought for independence and our leaders and country men and women who built our dear nation Ghana. On this day, we say Ayekoo to our Senior Citizens for their immense contributions to our motherland.
We are proud Ghanaians!
