Atiwa NDC want ‘collapsing’ DCE dismissed

National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives in Atiwa East and West constituencies in the Eastern region are calling for the dismissal of the Atiwa District Chief Executive (DCE) Emmanuel Atta Twum.

Twum collapsed when reading his speech at the Akyem-Kwabeng Presbyterian park during the Independence Day parade

At an extended executive committee meeting Monday, a party source told Joy News the two constituencies have resolved to petition President John Mahama and the NDC leadership to relieve the DCE of his post citing claims of ill-health against the DCE.

The DCE collapsed Sunday while reading his speech during the Independence Day celebration at Akyem-Kwabeng in the eastern region.

Sunday was not the first time the DCE fell at a public event. Sometime July last year he collapsed while responding to accusations of neglect by his constituency executives in Koforidua.

He fell unconscious again during last December’s Farmers Day celebrations in Akyem-Akropong.

Emmanuel Atta Twum also collapsed during a harvest ceremony at the Tumfa
Presbyterian Church in Atiwa.
