Allotey sues Hopeson Adorye over Heathrow arrest claim

Central Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs has sued Hopeson Adorye, a member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for defamation.

Rumours went viral on social media last month alleging that Mr Allotey Jacobs was busted for carrying cocaine in Britain, where he was expected to have connected to the United States of America later.

Other reports said the NDC bigwig who was abroad for a business transaction was escorted from the plane and questioned when his flight arrived at Heathrow Airport following a tip-off that he was carrying too much money.

The rumours further said Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK, Victor Smith had dispatched officials of the High Commission to help Chairman Allotey.

But Allotey Jacobs vehemently denied his arrest and vowed to deal ruthlessly with Hopeson Adorye, who’s believed to have started the rumour by publishing it on his Facebook wall, when he Allotey returned back home to Ghana.

However Hopeson Adorye rubbished Allotey’s threat describing it as empty and insisted that Allotey Jacobs was momentarily arrested and questioned over a case of money laundering Sunday while boarding a flight to the UK.

Allotey Jacobs, who’s also a member of the Board of the newly refurbished Komenda Sugar Factory in the Central Region has told Accra FM in an interview that he’ll make Hopeson Adorye pay dearly for his recklessness.

“My lawyer has informed me that he’s finished with the process and that bailiffs are on their way to serve Hopeson Adorye. As for the fire and brimstone, it will happen when we get to court; people will run away and leave their shoes. Santana is back and Santana will explode like a cruise missile. We’ll rattle like a rattle snake.”

He said any apology from Hopeson and an appeal to settle the matter out of court will be turned down, adding that it is very painful for one’s hard earned reputation to be tarnished baseless rumours.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com/

“Every human being has been given a talent by God to work with, but if Hopeson has chosen to always disgrace people then he’ll have to face the music in court.”
