Akufo-Addo Will Never Be The President Of Ghana

And it is the civic responsibility of every well-meaning and patriotic Ghanaians to ensure that he does NOT become the President of the republic of Ghana.

If you think that the above is a strong statement to make about the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a paper affiliated to the governing party, I agree.

But, before you jump to conclusions, I ask you to stay with me, while I make the case that it is incumbent upon every Progressive to assiduously work towards ensuring that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, does not succeed in sowing the seeds of tribal disharmony among us and tearing us apart.

Whatever you think of my abilities, and who I am, I am just an ordinary Ghanaian, a proud one at that, with access to a keyboard and work for a newspaper, as well as cloth with the responsibility of ensuring that we all guarantee the future of the unborn generation.

Following from this, I would not sit unconcern, whiles a few people through their unbridled ambition destroy everything our forbears labored for.
Nana Addo’s sense of entitlement is preventing him from understanding the basic fact that, if you continue to disparage and belittle and annoy various segments of the society, you will hardly have any base left to bank on.

How many more Ghanaians, will Nana Addo spit on BEFORE all well-meaning and lovers of this great nation, begin to realize the peril we will be plunging this country into, should we ever make the mistake of giving him the mandate to be the Commander In Chief.

Our elders say, if you do not know death, watch sleep. How many people have been ousted through a well orchestrated coup d’état from their elected positions in the NPP?

In the history of this country that was the first time such an absurdity, has ever happened to elected officers of a political party. We all went to sleep and pretended nothing had happened. Imagine if this had taken place in another political party or even in the New Patriotic Party, with the party being led by another person, other than Nana Addo.

Nana Addo is afflicted with a malignant and incurable hubris that inhibits his ability to objectively comprehend the obvious truth of his losses, from 2008, 2012 and the ice breaker and retirement loss on December 7.

He is not able to accept the fact that people voted for the late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills in 2008 and president John Dramani Mahama in 2012, not because they look like them, but because, once they have had a chance to critically compare them to Nana Addo on a leveled field, both candidates, dwarf him in a very significant way.

Nana Addo, claims to be “ready from day one” and “yenim wo fir titi” to wit we know you already. Perhaps this is the reason why it is difficult for him to accept the reality that, in spite of having the immense financial support in 2008, coupled with the advantage of incumbency he was badly beaten by a scrapping campaign put together on shoestring budget by the late president John Evans Atta Mills and the National Democratic Congress.

I want to tell him that we already have a “Unifier” in the Flagstaff House and we do not need his brand of unity.

For the sake of the country, and in the interest of the unborn generation, all well-meaning Progressives owe it a duty to themselves to continue to tirelessly work to ensure that Nana Addos brand of intolerant and divisive politics is soundly defeated and retired once and for all.

We need to not only beat this odious machination; we need to beat it to pulp, ensuring that no other person with similar character, can ever resuscitate it again.

Let it be known that, while Nana Addo continues to pitch one segment of the country against the other and one New Patriotic Party constituent against the other, his opponent in the National Democratic Congress continues to build a formidable list of enthusiastic supporters and impressive coalition, bringing more people into the political process than ever before, energizing a usually-depressed base and giving the NDC a more-than-stellar chance of taking the Flagstaff House again for the third time and helping the down ticket on December 7.

Will Nana Addo, ever acknowledge this qualitative superiority? Will he acknowledge that, once people get to know John Dramani Mahama, he doesn’t compare?

Will he recognize the fact that when it comes to the nitty-gritty, detailed- and organizational-oriented brand of one-on-one politicking, a vast majority of Ghanaians just prefer President Mahama?

Will he acknowledge that John Dramani Mahama, has a vastly superior appeal, authenticity and organizational ability? And that president Mahama, not
Nana Addo, is the better candidate, not just for this year’s election, but for the country for the next several years?
