Akufo Addo sacks Gideon Aryeequaye from GTA

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has relieved the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Gideon Aryeequaye of his post.

A letter from the seat of government dated January 24, 2017 and signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo, has assigned the Ministers designate for Tourism, Catherine Abelema Afeku to take over.

“Pursuant to section 14(1) of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845) and Paragraph 6 of the schedule thereto, you ceased to hold office as Chief Executive of the Ghana Tourism Authority, upon the assumption of the office o the President of the Republic.”

“You are directed to hand over your office to the President’s Representative at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Catherine Afeku, and proceed to collect any terminal benefits or facilities due you under relevant law.”

“In view of the urgency to this matter, please ensure that you hand over and cease to act as Chief Executive of the Ghana Tourism Authority not later 5pm on January 26, 2017,” the letter in part read.
