Akufo-Addo to name new IGP as Kudalor leaves

President Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to soon announce a replacement for Inspector General of Police (IGP) John Kudalor.

According to reports, Mr. Kudalor visited the President at the Flagstaff House on Wednesday morning to bid him farewell.

Before leaving office, Mr. John Kudalor, however, has approved the dismissal of the former Director-General in-charge of Human Resource at the Ghana Police Service, COP Patrick Timbilla, for his alleged role in a botched police recruitment scam in 2015.

Appointed by former President John Dramani Mahama as to replace Mohammed Alhassan in November 2015, Mr Kudalor was confirmed as the substantive IGP in February 2016.
