The Minister-designate for Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, has fallen on sex with his wife to shoot down claims that he is not fit to continue to hold himself as a Minister.
“I have the privilege of having my wife here, so probably, she can assist me in answering that question. The translation of what I said here is wrong; 100% wrong. I made this admonition at a function in my constituency, Dormaa Ahenkro and I spoke in Bono, so whoever did the translation got it entirely wrong and that is not what I meant”.
This follows a question posed to him during his vetting by Parliament’s Appointments Committee on an audio that emerged last year, purporting that he was tired of carrying on in his job as a minister during the peak of the Coronavirus fight.
But the Dormaa Central Member of Parliament, insisted that he was misquoted and that he meant no such thing.
He also went on to challenge the House to seek clearance with his wife, who appeared at the vetting with him, if he indeed isn’t fit enough.
The wife was sitting behind him as he boasted about his performance in bed.
“So, it’s unfortunate that this has come back here but that is not what I meant. I was trying to tell people that they should have sympathy on those of us who are fighting the battle and listen to the admonitions we were putting into the public domain. I didn’t say it on radio and maybe let us correct that too. So, I think I have corrected the facts and I am not tired; you can ask my wife,” he said.
Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, was reappointed to the position of Health Minister by President Akufo-Addo on January 21, 2021.
He appeared mostly not on top with most of the issues around his ministry, particularly budgetary issues, recruitment of personnel into the sector, procurements, COVID-19 menace, as well as the special arrangement between the government of Ghana and the offshore company Frontiers to test COVID-19 cases at the Kotoka International Airport, charging a whopping US$150.
But insisted that he was satisfied with his performance, especially in the area of the completion of previous projects in the health sector started by the erstwhile Mahama administration.
“I had challenges in the ministry initially. If you look at projects that had been started and left before I joined that ministry, it was very difficult for me to go fight for new money for new facilities when some had been abandoned and some had not been completed,” he indicated.
“So my strategy as I assured the previous Appointments Committee, when I came for vetting, was to try to complete the ones that had not been completed.
“So, the first two or three years, my focus was in that area and I must tell you that I am very happy with my performance with abdomen projects and projects that had not been completed as we speak now.
“What we started in the last one-and-half years, that is why getting close to the elections, you saw me commissioning and doing sod-cutting in health. So going forward you will see a few ones that will come up. Like the La General Hospital one, the Central Medical stores. The contractor mobilized to site even before Christmas.
