Abronye DC locks himself in washroom; refuses to see Police Commander and entourage

Brong Ahafo Regional Police Commander, DCOP Techie-Poku, a Divisional Commander, Superintendent Lugu Yari and one Sergeant Samuel Naawerebagr who went to the Catholic Hospital at Duayaw Nkwanta to visit Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye DC, who is alleged to have been assaulted by some New Patriotic Party supporters at Atebubu were snubbed by the victim.

The Regional Commander and his team were met on arrival by one Doctor Mathias Owusu, one of the medical doctors at the said hospital at a time some New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters were seen going into the ward to visit the victim by virtue of the fact he is the Brong Ahafo Youth Organiser of the party.

However, when it came to the turn of the Regional Commander to see the victim, led by Doctor Mathias Owusu, Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye DC, refused to see him.

His aides told the commander and his entourage that Abronye DC did not want to see anyone even though they were told that the Regional commander wanted to have first-hand information on the incident.

The victim locked himself in the washroom and refused to come out despite several appeals by the medical doctor.

It would be recalled that Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye DC, who is the NPP Regional youth organiser for the Brong Ahafo Region, went to Atebubu to attend a party meeting and was allegedly attacked and beaten to pulp by some party supporters.

He was rushed to the Atebubu government hospital for treatment but was later transferred to the Catholic hospital at Duayaw Nkwanta.

The Regional commander and his team, therefore, visited the hospital to see the condition of the victim and also have a firsthand account of the incident to assist the investigation.

Sadly, the victim refused an audience with the Regional Commander.

Meanwhile, a 24-hour police guard is placed on the ward of the victim to prevent a subsequent possible attack.
