Former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has extended a personal invitation to Kenyan President William Ruto to attend his upcoming inauguration on January 7.
John Mahama, who shared the news on his social media platforms, described the visit as an opportunity to express gratitude for Ruto’s unwavering support and to discuss critical issues of mutual interest.
“I visited my brother and friend, President William Ruto, to thank him for his support over the years and invite him to the #MahamaInauguration on January 7,” Mahama wrote.
The two leaders discussed strategies to enhance regional integration, bolster continental security, and maximize the benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
John Mahama, a former Chair of the African Union (AU) High-Level Committee on Trade, reiterated his dedication to advancing trade among African nations.
“As a former Chair of the AU High-Level Committee on Trade, I remain committed to expanding trade among our countries under the aegis of the AfCFTA,” Mahama noted.
The visit also underscored the strong bond between Ghana and Kenya, with John Mahama expressing optimism about strengthening bilateral relations.
