Rev Kwadwo Bempah has taken a direct jab at former President John Dramani Mahama regarding his support for the ORAL Team, a group tasked with investigating alleged electoral malpractices in the aftermath of the 2024 elections.
In a fiery statement, Rev Bempah questioned Mahama’s priorities, asserting that Ghanaians voted for leaders to address pressing economic issues, such as stabilising the Ghanaian cedi against the dollar, rather than focusing on what he described as politically motivated probes.
“We voted for you to bring the dollar down, not to chase people,” Rev Bempah remarked, in apparent frustration with the attention given to the Oral Team’s activities instead of the country’s economic challenges.
The Oral Team has come under the spotlight following allegations of electoral irregularities in several constituencies, with opposition parties championing its establishment.
However, critics like Rev Bempah argue that the focus should be on economic reforms and providing relief to Ghanaians amid a challenging economic environment.
As the Oral Team begins its investigations, the debate over priorities continues to dominate the national conversation.
