“It’s painful,” the New Patriotic Party (NPP)
Vice Presidential Candidate Matthew
Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) has said.
“We’ve indeed suffered defeat but Ashanti region did their best, showing us great support,” he added.
“Turnout was about 65 per cent, and they gave
NPP almost a third of the votes.”
Standing amidst party faithful, he was commenting on the defeat of the incumbent at the polls on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
Reflecting on Ghanaians favouring the main opposition National Democratic Congress
(NDC), returning former President lohn
Mahama to power, NAPO noted the country had been ungrateful not valuing the great work done by his party under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo over the cause of
eight years.
“Ghanaians are behaving like the Israelites, who soon forgot God’s kindness,” Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh admonished.
