The Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has been accused of shooting a supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The incident, which allegedly left the victim hospitalized with a gunshot wound, has sparked outrage among NDC officials and supporters.
Dr. Mark Oliver-Kevor, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the NDC, disclosed the incident in an interview on Asempa FM, stating that the matter is currently under police investigation.
Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC’s National Communications Officer, reiterated the allegations in a separate statement, accusing the MP of shooting one of the party’s supporters in the thigh. He condemned the act, urging the NPP MP to desist from what he described as “lawless behavior.”
“As for Annoh-Dompreh, who shot one of our supporters in the thigh, he shouldn’t worry—January 7 isn’t far. The day of accountability is coming. Don’t take the law into your own hands. Let us reflect the persona and character of our leader, John Mahama,” Sammy Gyamfi said, signaling the NDC’s intention to pursue criminal charges against the MP.
The Ghana Police Service is yet to release an official statement on the matter, but the case has already drawn significant public attention, raising concerns about political violence in the country.
