6th Parliament Approved President Mahama’s Accommodation -Ghanapoliticsonline

The Sixth Parliament of the 4th Republic before it dissolved, resolved that residential and office accommodation be provided outgoing President John Mahama in line with convention and best practice.

In the agreement at the joint transition committee, it was agreed that President JM remains in his current residence at Cantonment and the Chief of Staff Julius Debrah was asked to write to confirm the President’s choice to remain in the premises he was currently occupying.

The Vice President elect Bawumia by the transition agreement is expected to move into Australia House when the outgoing VP Amissah Arthur moves out.

Upon the completion of the permanent residence of the VP which is currently ongoing on the site of the old Nigerian High Commission on Switchback road, the incoming VP will move into the new premises and Australia House will revert into it normal role as a state guest house.

Leakage yesterday, sunday of transitional documents to wit the letter written by Julius Debrah followed by a Ghanaweb story that Bawumia is stranded because the President has refused to move from his residence is mischievous.

It is obviously meant to achieve some political objective of embarrassing ex-president J. Mahama
