35 workers at TV3 sacked for wearing red

Management of TV3 has sacked about 35 of its technical staff for “wearing” red attire and bands to work.

It is not clear if the said workers were wearing red to demand for better welfare conditions.

But a source at the station has told Pulse.com.gh that “There was a union negotiations ongoing and it broke down somewhere. So the union members said they were giving warning signals. And so they [management] gave them a letter last week to explain why a disciplinary action should not be taken against them for wearing a red dress or red band.”

As at the time of filing this story, there was heavy police presence at the station to escort the sacked workers out of the company.
