Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Defence Minister-designate, has promised to promote equity in the recruitment process for the Ghana Armed Forces and other security services to ensure regional balance and fairness.
Speaking before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 28, Dr Omane Boamah emphasized the importance of creating an equitable system that addresses geographical disparities during military recruitment and medical assessments.
He highlighted the advantage enjoyed by potential recruits in Accra due to the proximity of 37 Military Hospital.
To address this imbalance, Dr Omane Boamah pledged to explore measures that would make medical assessments and other recruitment procedures accessible to candidates across all regions.
