In compliance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), all members of statutory boards, corporations, commissions, and councils appointed by the former President or a former Minister of State ceased to hold office on January 7, 2025. This marks the transition to the administration of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.
A formal notice issued by the Acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, clarified that this directive does not apply to commissions established as independent constitutional bodies.
According to the statement, the affected statutory entities will be reconstituted in line with their respective enabling laws. In the interim, the managements of these institutions have been directed to seek clearance from the Chief of Staff before making any significant decisions.
President Mahama extended his gratitude to the affected members for their service and wished them well in their future endeavors.
This notice underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and lawful transition in governance. Further updates on the reconstitution of these boards, commissions, and councils are expected in due course.
