Akufo-Addo congratulates Mahama on 2024 election victory, pledges smooth transition

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his decisive victory in Ghana’s 2024 Presidential Election.Tourism packages

The announcement came following the Electoral Commission’s declaration of results by its Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa, on Monday evening, December 9, 2024.

In a call to the President-elect, President Akufo-Addo expressed his commitment to ensuring a smooth and seamless transfer of power on January 7, 2025. He emphasized his readiness to work with Mahama and his team to ensure the success of the transition process.

President Akufo-Addo also commended the Electoral Commission, the Ghanaian people, and all stakeholders for their dedication to a credible and peaceful electoral process. He highlighted this as a reflection of Ghana’s enduring democratic values and commitment to the rule of law.

In a show of unity and collaboration, the President has extended an invitation to the President-elect for a meeting on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Jubilee House. This meeting is expected to mark the formal initiation of the transition process.

President Akufo-Addo called on all Ghanaians to unite in consolidating democracy and fostering national development. He reaffirmed his dedication to the principles of good governance and peaceful transitions, which have solidified Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.

Concluding his statement, the President said, “May God continue to bless our homeland Ghana and make her great and strong.”

Further to this evening’s official declaration by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa, of the results of the 2024 Presidential Election, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has called President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, to congratulate him on his decisive victory in the just-ended presidential election.Tourism packages

President Akufo-Addo expressed his commitment to ensuring a seamless transfer of power on 7th January 2025, and looks forward to working with the President-elect and his team to realise this goal.

The President also congratulates the Electoral Commission and the Ghanaian people for a successful election that reflects the enduring strength of Ghana’s democracy.

He acknowledges the commitment and participation of all stakeholders, which have ensured that the democratic process in Ghana remains credible and peaceful.

President Akufo-Addo calls on all Ghanaians to unite and work together to consolidate democracy and the rule of law in our country.

In the spirit of collaboration, the President has invited the President-elect for a meeting on Wednesday, 11th December 2024, at Jubilee House to initiate the transition process. He remains committed to the principles of good governance and a peaceful transition that will further strengthen Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.
