The Accra Circuit Court has discharged four additional protesters from the Democracy Hub after the state prosecution withdrew charges against them.
The prosecution informed the court that new charges had been filed to replace the initial ones, which were brought against the protesters on September 25.
The four individuals who were discharged are Cedric Bansah, Emmanuel Offei, Nana Amo Mensah Prempeh, and Thomas Yeboah. This latest decision brings the total number of protesters discharged to 11, as the court continues to handle cases arising from the Democracy Hub protests.
The protests, which spanned three days from September 21 to September 23, saw the arrest of 53 individuals. On Tuesday, October 22, seven other protesters were also discharged in a similar ruling.
