Zenator Rawlings Has Made Our Case Easier – Lawyer For Nii Armah Ahietey

Lawyer for the NDC Member of Parliament for Klottey Korley constituency, Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo has stated that Zenator Rawlings has made their case in court easier to be dealt with after registering in the ongoing limited registration exercise.

The NDC parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle has registered in the ongoing limited registration exercise at the Nyaniba polling station at Ridge today.

Some members of the Klottey Korley Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) including the Member of Parliament (MP) Nii Armah Ashietey petitioned the party in December last year to disqualify Dr. Zanetor Rawlings as the winner of the parliamentary primary for not being a registered voter.

Part of the petition read “The party’s own rules that guided the conduct of the primaries provided that a member of the NDC shall not qualify to contest any primaries in any of the parliamentary seats if that member does not satisfy the requirement for election of a Member of Parliament as provided in Article 94, Section 1(a) of the 1992 Constitution.”

He categorically said that what she has done now is an indication to Nii Armah Ashittey that all they have been saying is true that at the time when the primaries took place she was not supposed to have been allowed to contest at all.

“So if she has now registered, that registration cannot take retrospective effect,” he indicated in an interview with Citi FM News.
