Youth groups in Northern Region endorse John Mahama

All youth groups of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region have endorsed former President John Dramani Mahama’s 2020 Presidential ambition.

Led by the NDC 007 group at a news conference in Tamale, they welcomed the former President’s decision to join the party’s flagbearer race.

Leader of the amalgamated NDC youth groups, Chief Abdallah Inusah, commended the former President for declaring his intension.

“We thank our former President for considering the interest of the party including the grassroots following the persistent pressure on him to comeback.”

According to Abdallah Inusah, John Mahama is the NDC’s best bet for the 2020 general elections.

“The declaration of John Mahama to contest the 2020 elections on the ticket of the NDC has brought some hope to the teeming youth in the country.”

“This is an opportunity for the party to salvage the country from total collapse by the Akuffo Addo administration.”

He warned that the youth would crush any individual or groups within the NDC that attempts to sabotage the former President’s ambition.

“We deem this conference necessary after serious consultations with Chiefs, Religious leaders and opinion leaders across the length and breadth of the region with preparedness to bring development and jobs for the people. We shall resist any member of our party who tries to frustrate the good intentions of the former President.”

He thereby pleaded with the delegates to give the former President another chance to lead the party to victory.
