Your ancestors were bomb-throwers; they deserve no honour- Blakk Rasta blasts Akufo-Addo, NPP

Musician Blakk Rasta, born Abubakar Ahmed, has launched a scathing attack at the Danquah-Busia-Dombo political tradition progenitors of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), claiming that the ancestry of that political tradition deserves no honour and celebration because they did close to nothing in Ghana’s struggle for independence. 

Speaking on his Taxi Driver Show on Zylofon TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the outspoken Blakk Rasta accused the Danquah-Busia-Dombo political tradition of having sought to scuttle Ghana’s independence fight by telling the British Monarch, the Queen of England, that Ghana was not ready for independence, stressing that the NPP is seeking project its predecessors as fighters for liberation worthy of celebration when indeed, they do not deserve any honour at all.

“The more I talk about this, the more I feel bad. The more I talk about this, the more  I feel weird.  People like Nkrumah built silos. They built factories but because your political idiocy , political jingoisms, political hogwashness – my God! – you’ve decided to relegate everything that Kwame Nkrumah did to the background because you want to resurrect your dead ancestors who did close to nothing for this country. Your ancestors were nothing but bomb throwers! 

Your ancestors sold us to the British Queen when we were about to get our independence in this country. They ran to the Queen of England, telling the Queen of England that we were not ready for independence yet. 

When Kwame Nkrumah was running around looking for wonderful places to put on our currency, your ancestors busily ran to the Queen of England and the Queen of England to ask Kwame Nkrumah to put her[ the Queen of England]  on our currencies.

Are these people we should celebrate? People who were so much not in the hurry for us to be liberated,” he lashed out.

Blakk Rasta added that if he were President of Ghana, he would demolish all statues in honour of predecessors of the NPP around the country.

 “Today they claim that they are the leaders of liberation. Today, they claim that it is  their ancestors that we sound celebrate. Their statues are hanging around. I was President, I will crash all those statues of those people who never stood firm for us to liberate ourselves. This is not harsh. This is common sense. We celebrate those who are worth celebrating, not those who are so much in a hurry to return us to colonial rule, not those who are so much in a hurry to bomb…” He maintained.

Blakk Rasta has become a vocal critic of the NPP since it assumed the reins of power in 2017. He notably criticised the President for being too old to be President.
