This year’s national service has not been extended-NSS

The National Service Scheme [NSS] has dismissed reports that is has extended the service period of existing personnel beyond the regular end in August

In a statement the scheme has called on the service personnel to disregard the information making rounds on social media.

“Management wishes to state unequivocally that there has neither been any such discussion nor decision to extend the period of national service this year.”

The statement further cautioned that all national service personnel and the general public should be wary of faceless persons who may make financial demands on them for consideration for extension of service.
