President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia has rejected the results of the Gambian presidential results which he lost to opposition leader, Adama Barrow, last week.

According to Reuters, the dictator addressed the nation tonight and rejected the results.

He subsequently called for new elections.

The announcement made on state television throws the future of the country into doubt after an unexpected result that ended Jammeh’s 22-year rule.

Jammeh had earlier conceded defeat and even called Barrow on phone to congratulate him.
