We Won’t Reverse Decision On Disqualified Presidential Candidates – EC

The Electoral Commission (EC) says it cannot rescind its decision on the 12 presidential aspirants who were disqualified for not meeting the nomination requirements.

Deputy Communications Director at the EC, Yussif Ayuba, said that reversing the decision will be in contravention of the law.

Mr. Ayuba also explained that the process of cross checking information of parliamentary aspirants for the 2016 election is also completed.

He denied reports that the EC has disqualified 24 of parliamentary aspirants.

He said such persons disqualified themselves, because they failed in the first place to complete the nomination process.
