In a statement copied to Ghanapoliticsonline.com The group asked John Boadu to disclose the source of funding for items shared by Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

The group also asked the where abouts of the over Ghc 3 million of party’s money which Akufo-Addo criminally diverted from the party’s account.

They are cautioning Akufo-Addo led NPP to stop making such cacophony over worthless issues but rather focus on how to Unite the party which has been fractured by Akufo-Addo and build a manifesto for their party

WOMEN FOR MAHAMA CAUTIONS THE NPP TO DESIST FROM UNFAIR ATTACKS ON FIRST LADY

We have noticed with deep concern the recent press conference held by the unelected Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party during which he devoted time attacking the work and integrity of the First Lady Her Excellency Mrs Lordina Mahama for her philanthropic work. They further made claims which are falsely suggestive of corruption on the part of the first lady.

We find it rather strange that the NPP would dabble in such an aimless attack on the first lady for no tenable reason.

As we speak the leader of the NPP has been accused of stashing away $48 thousand belonging to his party members.

We are yet to hear him account for that money. Again he has been accused of masterminding the stashing away of the party’s more than GhC3 million away from its Ghana Commercial Bank account to a secret Ecobank Account. To this day, Nana Akufo-Addo has not proved to be accountable to his party members.

How then has it become necessary for the first lady to disclose sources of funds for her charity, which is already publicly known, when the person in charge of the NPP is the one whose dealings require more light to be thrown on it?

Secondly we wonder why the NPP finds it necessary to single out this first lady for public ridicule when in fact previous first ladies, including the NPP’s Mrs Theresa Kufuor, have done same without question?

Reports of donations done by Nana Akufo-Addo’s wife abound in the media. Even worse, she has branded the items donated in NPP colours clearly meaning that these were for votes.

By their recent attack on the first lady the NPP has proved to Ghanaians that they lack any meaningful ideas which will help propel Ghana forward.

We are therefore calling on the NPP to put their minds to serious policy issues and give us a manifesto rather than dabbling in this needless waste of everybody’s time

Many thanks.
