We’ll rise up against plans to jail Ibrahim Mahama – Kwaku Boahen

Deputy Director of Communication of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwaku Boahen has threatened that members of the party will rise up against plans to implicate and incarcerate Ibrahim Mahama brother of former president John Dramani Mahama.

He believes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Engineers and Planners is only being hauled before the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) because persons in the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government are envious of him.

“What they are doing is just witch-hunting. Members of the NPP are envious of the achievements of the businessman. If they try to jail him, we will rise up against it. I have not seen any crime committed by him”, he stated on Accra-based Adom TV

While stating that the underneath cause of his invite is personal hatred because he is richer than maverick politician Kennedy Agyepong, he dared government to jail him threatening that party will rise up in full force against such a decision.

“I am daring you to Jail him……….jail him let us see. You people are envious of him and you have hated him for a very long time”, he said.

Ibrahim Mahama is allegedly being investigated by EOCO over specific cheques he issued to the customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) at the ports to clear heavy duty equipment imported into the country.

After his first meeting with officials of EOCO, he was asked to deposit his traveling passport pending the outcome of investigations into the whole incident.
