The acting Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has said that the party hopes to be in power for the next 60 years.
Speaking at the opening of the party’s delegate conference in Koforidua, Mr Blay said the party will want to consolidate itself in power to ensure that it continues with development projects.
“As the President has been saying, we don’t want to be in power for eight years, we want to be in power for 60 years…,” he said.
The NPP won the 2016 elections and has since been in power for a year and half.
The party has gathered at the Koforidua Technical University (KTU) to elect new set of executive.
