We have nothing to do with current ‘dumsor’-John Jinapo

Former Deputy Power Minister, John Jinapo has said, the President John Dramani Mahama administration cannot be blamed for the current erratic power supply also known as ‘Dumsor’ in the country.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday, he said, the Mahama-led administration put in place the necessary measures to ensure dumsor is permanently stopped.

He therefore urged President Nana Akufo-Addo and his charges to be up and doing and solve the current problem in the country.

“We worked tirelessly the whole of last year and there was reliable and sustainable power. The FPSO went off for three months but we never had issues. It also beat my imagination that the FPSO goes off for just one week and almost the whole nation is in darkness.”

He added that “access to energy has become a major component of our system and we took over, access to electricity was just about 50 percent but today, access to electricity is 83.5 percent.”

He therefore asked the New Patriotic Party to stop the blame games and fix the problem as they promised.
