WAEC denies cancellation of 2016 WASSCE results

The West African Examination Council says it has not cancelled results of any schools as is being rumoured.

The Head of Communications of the Council, Agnes Teye Cudjoe in an interview advised the public to ignore such rumours as it is not official.

There is a statement circulating on social media purported to have been issued by GES that WAEC has cancelled the results of some named Senior High School for examination malpractices.

Mrs Teye Cudjoe said although marking is in progress, the Council has not met on any issue relating to cancellation.

The Ghana Education Service has advised Heads of Senior High Schools and the public to ignore a statement requesting heads of SHS to report to the GES to answer questions on the alleged cancellation of results by WAEC because of examination malpractices.

The Public Relations Officer of the Service, Rev. Jonathan Bettey, described the information as untrue.
