Voters’ register: Crabbe submits report to EC

The five-member committee set up by the electoral commission to look into concerns over the credibility of the voters’ register has submitted its report to the electoral body, Starr News has learnt.

The report was submitted to the EC last Friday, sources close to the Charlotte Osei-led electoral body hinted Starr News.

The committee led by respected statesman His Lordship Professor V.C.R.A.C. Crabbe was established following series of protestation against the current register.

The opposition New Patriotic Party was the first to raise concerns about the register, a move which was subsequently supported by numerous civil society groups.

It is unclear the decision of the committee. Other eminent Ghanaians who made the committee included, most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante; Dr. Grace Bediako, Dr. Nii Narku Quaynor; and Maulvi Bin Salih.

Meanwhile, Parliament has already approved the budget of the electoral commission for the 2016 elections.

While the EC presented sum of GHC1.1 million, the legislative body approve a little over GHC800 million
