VICE PRESIDENT’S CAMPAIGN TEAM STORM UPPER EAST TODAY

The Vice President, Mr K. B. Amissah-Arthur, who has been campaigning in the Northern region since Monday is expected to cross over to the Upper East region today.

Mr Amissah-Arthur, accompanied by some top government appointees from the area and party executives has held series of strategic meetings with Parliamentary candidates, Constituency Chairmen, Municipal and District Chief Executives and the Northern Regional Campaign Task Force.

He also inaugurated the NDC’s Campaign Taskforce for the Northern Region at Mole.

The Vice President’s campaign is focusing on the Western and Central corridors of the Northern Region.

On Tuesday, Mr Amissah-Arthur addressed the youth of Damongo after paying a courtesy call on the Gonja Traditional Council.

He was warmly received by the Vice President of the Gonja Traditional Council and Chief of Buipe, Buipewura, Abudulai Jinapor II.

Mr Amissah-Arthur observed that peace and stability form the foundation for economic and social development. He therefore called on all, especially the youth and opinion leaders, to preserve the peace.

The Vice President was joined by Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Idirusu, Deputy Minister for Power, John Jinapor, Agriculture Minister Alhaji Muniru, the Northern regional chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sofo Azoka and parliamentary candidates.

The Vice President’s campaign in the area, just after the main opposition party, NPP had theirs may be intended to disabuse the minds of those who must have been misinformed through lies.
It also assesses the mood of the people ahead of an all-out NDC campaign in the coming weeks to maximize votes in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West which are traditionally NDC strongholds.

On Wednesday, Mr Amissah-Arthur will pay a courtesy call on the Buipewura and meet with party executives from a number of constituencies in the Gonja area.

He is expected to move to Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region later today and wrap up his campaign there on Friday.
