Vice President urges eligible youth to register

Vice President Paa Kwasi Amissah-Arthur has encouraged every young person of the voting age to take advantage of the limited voters’ registration exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC) to get their names in the electoral roll.

That, he said, was important to enable them to exercise their civic responsibility of electing competent people to lead the nation.

He was speaking during an inspection of the site for a modern sports stadium at New-Edubiase in the Adansi South District.

The Vice President called for all to get right with the law to make the exercise peaceful and successful.

He used the occasion to highlight the achievements, citing what he said was massive infrastructure development across the country.

He stated that it had kept faith with the people and expressed optimism that voters would reward this and renew its mandate in November.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur thanked the people in the area for standing solidly behind the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and rallied them to continue to support the party.

They should remain unwavering and continue to trust President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidates with their votes.

He urged chiefs to lead efforts at helping to keep the nation united and prevent needless tension as the people prepared to go to the polls in November.
