Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, is expected to attend the campaign launch of one of the hard working parliamentary candidates of the National Democratic Congress named, Abigail Elorm Mensah, in the Fanteakwa South constituency – Eastern region, come Saturday 24th September, 2016.
The launch, which is expected to amass thousands of party faithful’s and sympathizers, is also aimed at out-dooring all the good works and good plans the party has for the people of Fanteakwa.
The Parliamentary candidate hopes to recapture the Fanteakwa South seat from the opposition New Patriotic Party – due to hard work and evidence of good works she has done as a parliamentary candidate. She told GhanaPoliticsOnline.Com that the launch is going to be a superb one.
In the 2012 election, the New Patriotic Candidate for the constituency, Kofi Okyere- Agyekum, who is currently the member of Parliament for the area got 11,683 votes representing 57.93% of the total votes cast whilst the National Democratic Congress candidate in the 2012 election , Dr. Kofi Agyarko-Danquah, got 6,560 votes representing 32.53 % of the votes cast.
The people of Fanteakwa South have lamented over the inability to access the current MP and have also complained about his poor performance. Most people our reporter spoke to in the constituency, vowed to vote for Elorm Mensah – because change is expedient now or never.
