UN Secretary General lauds President Mahama and Ghana.: Ohenenana Obonti Krow

Mr President, I must commend you and the good people of Ghana for the support you continue to offer other countries through the various agencies under the U.N.You were outstanding as a regional head and continue to play very useful role in the organization’s bid to ensure global peace and prosperity.

This is what I consider to be the challenge for those of us who have pledged to pursue the search for a world order based on freedom, justice and dignity.

These principles ” he said” are cardinal to Ghana’s attitude to the work of the United Nations. The Secretary General said he sees Ghana under the current leader as the bastion of hope for the sub- region. He said ” Under your leadership I consider Ghana as the torch bearer of the ideals of the United Nations among the peoples of Africa. You have not only been preaching the gospel of the U.N,but also offer concrete programmes to affect the very life and development of your people.”

The President also held bilateral talks with his co-chairperson Prime Minister Solberg of Norway. She expressed his admiration of the President and commended him highly for his role in combating the Ebola spread, the swift way with which he handled the Burkina Faso crisis, the vigorous health expansion programme in Ghana. The two states signed a bilateral agreement which would increase trade and cooperation between the two states. The interesting point is that Prime Minister Solberg as if have received a spiritual revelation of what is going to happen in 2016,invited the President to visit Norway next year .According to the Prime Minister her government is going to initiate a programme which would involve Norwegian and Ghanaian business class for effective cooperation and trade opportunities and would like the Ghanaian leader to inaugurate the Association.
