Two policemen injured as communities clash over cheating partner

Two policemen were reportedly injured during the melee
Tension is mounting at Akyem Kusi in the Eastern region following a fight between two women that led to the death of one Tuesday morning.

Relatives and friends of the deceased from Takorase, also in the region, reportedly stormed the Kusi Township to avenge the death of their kinswoman who was murdered for sleeping with the boyfriend of the suspect. The suspect, according to reports, set her rival ablaze after catching her in bed with her man.

The clash between residents of the Kusi Township and the visitors who have invaded the town has reportedly led to the injury of two police officers, Starr News Eastern regional correspondent Kojo Ansah has reported.

The man at the center of the tension is a miner who relocated to the Kusi community some months back. He is believed to have dated the deceased after his regular girlfriend traveled to their hometown for some business.

The matter is creating massive security concerns in the area as heavy security detail has been dispatched to the community
