Trade Ministry moves to protect consumers
A policy aimed at ensuring that consumers are adequately protected from activities of firms which usually engage in individual pricing is being prepared.
The law called competition policy and its accompanying Bill will be presented to Parliament for approval by the end of this year.
This is part of the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s steps to ensure consumer protection.
The Sector Minister, Ekow Spio-Garbrah, who took his turn at the Meet-the-Press series in Accra stated that the Ministry in collaboration with stakeholders have completed work on Intellectual Property Rights Policy and obtained cabinet approval.
