Three arrested in Manhyia North primary vote

Reports reaching Adomonline.com indicate that at least three persons have been arrested for attempting to disrupt voting in the on-going Manhyia North NPP parliamentary primaries.

The three were picked up following fears that they could either disrupt the voting or snatch ballot boxes.

The men are in police custody assiting investigations.
Meanwhile, voting has just ended.

Manhyia North is one of only two constituencies not to have elected a candidate to contest for the seat currently occupied by Collins Owusu Amankwah, who is also running for re-nomination.http://ghanapoliticsonline.com

Luv Fm’s Mohammed Nurudeen who has been following the primaries said the process is smooth and it is likely to end at about 3pm.

The presence of the police personnel and the private security force of the party are visible at the elections.

He said party supporters are in their numbers to support their favourite contestants but added that no national or regional executives have been spotted so far.
